Walkergate’s contribution to Operation Christmas Child – The Shoebox Appeal

Walkergate Community School have donated 59 shoeboxes to Operation Christmas Child – The Shoebox Appeal. We invited children to donate items which would be sent to children living in very difficult conditions this christmas. 

The generosity of our families has been truly overwhelming, and a special thank you to the staff who contributed additional donations to help cover shipping costs. 

Thanks to some of our Year 6 children who kindly sorted and packed all of our donations, we were able to deliver 59 shoeboxes to a local church on Friday. We were delighted to hear that our boxes will be sent to children in Malawi, one of the poorest countries in the world.
