Tuesday 16th April is National Allocation Day for children entering primary school for the first time.
On this long anticipated day, primary school offers will be sent to parents and carers of young children around the country. It’s a very exciting time for everyone in primary education, and we’re sure for you too!
Every September, we have the privilege of welcoming a whole host of excited new faces to school life. To make sure that no family ends up disappointed as the new school year approaches, we’d like to encourage parents and carers to accept their offer of a place at our school as soon as they are able.
If you applied online using the Portal, and asked to be notified by email, you will receive an email on this day telling you the school your child has been allocated. You can also log on to your account on the Portal on the 16th April 2024 to find out what the response is to your application.
If you applied on a paper form, on the 16th April 2024 you will be sent a letter by second class post telling you the school your child has been allocated.

At Walkergate, we aim to provide experiences and opportunities for learning that are rich and rewarding, where success is celebrated and children are encouraged to become confident lifelong learners.
We are also proud to be working towards gaining recognition as a school of sanctuary, meaning that we help our students, staff and wider community understand what it means to be seeking sanctuary and to extend a welcome to everyone as equal, valued members of the school community.
If you have anything you’d like to ask, or would like to let us know anything, please don’t get in touch with our school office, we’d love to talk to you!
If your child has been offered a place at our school, you won’t be disappointed. Make sure you accept your offer and let us know. We can’t wait to meet you and your child in September!
